AI: Hype or disruptor?

OpenAI’s ChatGPT became the fastest-growing consumer internet app ever, with 100 million users just two months after launch. Generative AI startups are raising record sums, and Big Tech firms are stepping up efforts to integrate the technology. But other parts of the AI ecosystem are facing pressures to prove their innovations can produce real benefits and justify lofty valuations.

With so much AI buzz, how can companies effectively leverage this emerging tech?

The Logic’s reporter Murad Hemmadi was joined by Ryan Ferguson, CEO, Riskfuel; Anne Thériault, VP of legal, CISO and DPO, Coveo; and John Weigelt, national technology officer, Microsoft Canada, to discuss the current state of AI. From exploring its potential risks to understanding its practical applications, this event—with opening remarks from Raphael Schapiro, chief technology & operations strategy and transformation officer, BMO Financial Group—provided valuable insights on navigating the AI landscape, and what it could mean for the future.
