Talking point: In a press conference Monday, Defence Minister Bill Blair said Kyiv has “told us very clearly they need many more drones.” The government said the drones can detect and identify targets, including in poor weather and dark conditions. They will help Ukraine transport supplies, as well as surveillance and intelligence gathering. The 46-year-old company has provided supplies like drones and unmanned ground vehicles to over 50 countries, spokesperson Joe Ailinger told The Logic by email. “Those solutions—whether long-range surveillance sensors, bomb disposal ground robots or more recently drones—have been used in conflicts from the Balkans to the Gulf War in Iraq and Afghanistan to the present war in Ukraine,” said Ailinger. Ottawa said the Teledyne devices complement over 100 drone cameras from L3 Wescam that it previously donated to Ukraine.
