Amazon announced a partnership with JPMorgan Chase and Berkshire Hathaway to cut healthcare costs for employees and acquired prescription delivery service PillPack last year. Google has had less luck: it hired a healthcare CEO in November 2018 to organize its fragmented health care initiatives like Google Fit and Google Health. Experts speaking to CNBC said they anticipated more deals like this forcing innovation into the U.S. health system.
