Talking point: The appointment of Montrealer Pichette is part of a governance overhaul at the social media platform spurred by activist investor Elliott Management, which bought into the company in part to challenge the reign of Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey. Pichette has been a Twitter board member since 2017. A veteran of McKinsey & Company and Bell Canada, he joined Montreal’s Inovia Capital in 2018 and opened the VC fund’s first European office earlier this year.
