Talking point: Telus Health is the telecom’s foray into offering a suite of in-person and virtual health services. It’s expected to be spun off via an initial public offering, much like Telus International. The division, along with Telus Agriculture, has been posting double-digit growth. It is under review by B.C.’s Medical Services Commission on whether one of its services—which requires a $4,600 annual fee for a family doctor at its clinics—contribute to a two-tier healthcare system. The company said its centres aim to “alleviate the burden” on the provincial health-care system and that its program fees are for preventative care “that is not publicly funded.” Meanwhile, Telus International announced it has opened an office in Ireland focusing on AI data.
