Google spokesperson Hibaq Ali declined to answer The Logic’s questions about how many Canadian workers are affected. “We’re responsibly investing in our company’s biggest priorities and the significant opportunities ahead,” said Ali, which she said in some cases has meant laying off workers. “We’re continuing to support any impacted employees as they look for new roles here at Google and beyond.”
