Talking point: The three men launched the startup a little over a year ago, after Sutskever and Levy quit OpenAI. Gross, a tech investor, is reportedly set to join the team Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is assembling to pursue artificial general intelligence, which would match and then surpass human smarts. Sutskever’s referenced reports that the Facebook parent company had tried to acquire SSI. “We are flattered by their attention but are focused on seeing our work through,” he wrote, claiming his startup has the compute and staff necessary to independently achieve its target of creating superintelligence.
