Talking point: The Quebec-based maker of snowmobiles, Sea-Doos, ATVs and boats is still investigating the extent of the breach, but stands by its statement from Aug. 15 that “the impact of this incident from a data privacy perspective should be limited.” (At the time, BRP said it saw no sign that private information had been breached.) Workers whose data has been compromised are getting “appropriate resources,” BRP said, and it is telling affected suppliers. The company shut down factories around the world for days after the attack while it restored internal systems from backups.
