Talking point: Lightdash creates tools to help businesses understand and organize their data, and has released an AI analyst that users can chat with and receive feedback for data. Shopify Ventures’ latest investment comes a week after it participated in another AI-related round: a US$12.1-million pre-seed for AI assistant startup Convergence. Led by CEO Hamzah Chaudhary, Lightdash published its first open-source platform on HackerNews in 2021. It previously raised US$8.4 million in a 2023 pre-seed round, with Accel as its lead investor.
