Talking point: Swyft helps e-commerce businesses facilitate last-mile deliveries, making it a natural fit for Shopify as the two companies both work with small merchants that are taking on Amazon. Shopify doesn’t directly invest in other companies very often, although it did acquire fulfilment platform 6 River Systems for US$450 million in 2019. Inovia and U.S.-based Forerunner Ventures led the round, with existing investors Golden Ventures and Trucks VC participating, as well.
