Talking point: Every tech giant that makes software for businesses has launched its own AI assistants, but Salesforce is betting particularly big. Agents are “the future of this company,” MaryAnn Patel, senior vice-president of product management, told The Logic in December. Convergence’s first product, Proxy, can take over tasks within a web browser like research and email correspondence. The startup was co-founded by two machine learning engineers who’d previously worked together at both Shopify and Cohere. Convergence raised a US$12 million pre-seed round in September from investors including Shopify and Salesforce.
