Talking point: MCI Onehealth runs a chain of 19 physical primary-care clinics in Ontario and Alberta and offers virtual and “executive” private care as well. In a 2021 interview, its chief innovation officer Saleema Khimji told The Logic the company’s plan was to use big data from patients’ files to deliver efficient, smooth, timely care and support research. It claims a “data lake” of three million clinical records. Khimji has since left the company; so has chief operating officer Jennifer Foster. MCI Onehealth’s revenue was $53.2 million in 2022, up from $47.8 million in 2021, but its net loss deepened from $15.5 million to nearly $21 million.
