The Toronto-based food ordering app announced Thursday that it has expanded internationally to the U.K. and Australia, with further plans to move into Europe. The company aims to be available in more than 40 North American cities and to more than triple its restaurant count by the end of 2019. (BetaKit)
Talking point: Launched in Toronto in 2014, Ritual first expanded to the United States in 2017. Since its launch, it has raised US$127.5 million in venture funding. It currently has offerings from more than 5,000 restaurants in over 16 cities throughout North America, the U.K. and Australia. Within Canada, Ritual will be expanding its service in 2019 to Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Montreal and Edmonton. As a part of the expansion, the company is hiring for roles in Sydney, Melbourne and London, along with numerous cities across Canada and the U.S.
