Talking point: Some Wall Street analysts say that Uber’s value may top US$100 billion, potentially becoming one of the largest initial public offerings ever. Uber lost US$1.1 billion in three months ending in September and brought in US$3 billion in revenue. It has raised almost US$20 billion from investors such as SoftBank and Toyota. Lyft is valued at around US$15 billion. While the exact timing of the listings remain uncertain, last week’s filings open the door for both IPOs to take place in early 2019.
