Talking point: ResQ’s platform creates a marketplace for the restaurant-repair industry by connecting contractors and restaurant owners. Parisa Tootazehi, the company’s director of marketing and business development, told The Logic it would use the funding “to grow our service provider marketplace and build our service-provider product to create an even more competitive and efficient marketplace.” Though the pandemic has crippled the restaurant industry, ResQ has now raised US$53.3 million over the past two years. As my colleague Murad has reported, New York-based Tiger Global has been on a private-tech investment spree in Canada, reinforcing its reputation for making quick decisions and offering high prices.
