Talking point: AI firms are increasingly looking to sell to the U.S. defence and intelligence establishment, as the Trump administration tries to push the technology into government operations, dominate the field globally and ramp up military spending. Anthropic, Google, OpenAI and xAI have launched new models, updated policies or formed partnerships as they push into the security space. Toronto-based Cohere, which also sells large language models and agent-builder tools, has similarly positioned its technology as well-suited for defence intelligence applications.
