Talking point: This round marks the first time the company, founded in 2015, has raised money from investors. Knak said it will use the funds to hire more staff and expand its platform, among other growth plans. CEO and co-founder Pierce Ujjainwalla said in a statement that Insight “stood out as our ideal investment partner” due, in part, to its “software experience and extensive SaaS technology network” to help fulfil the company’s vision. Insight invests in “scale-up software companies led by visionary CEOs,” according to its website, and its portfolio includes Shopify, Ritual and Hootsuite.
