Talking point: Willful will acquire all of WillowBee’s customers as part of the deal. In addition, WillowBee’s president and general manager Rob McGrorty will join Willful as a consultant and advisor on product development. “We know that joining forces will help us to reach even more Canadians as Willful grows,” McGrorty told BetaKit. It has reportedly continued to grow despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Its CEO and co-founder Erin Bury said it has seen a “big influx of traffic and sales.” In July, Willful raised $800,000 in seed financing in a round led by Montreal-based VC firm Tactico. It also has a partnership with Wealthsimple that allows the fintech’s users to create a will using Willful’s platform.
