Talking point: In a release, Nuvei said its knowledge of local markets in the regions will help the tech giant with payments for recurring billing and individual transactions for its Office and Xbox products. Nuvei also plans to reduce false declines on legitimate credit card purchases, and provide alternative payment methods, like paying via a mobile device, tailored to local areas. The firm’s shares closed up more than six per cent on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Nuvei’s stock is down 13 per cent year to date, recovering from a 45 per cent plunge in the summer after it lowered its annual outlook. Nuvei did not respond to a request for comment.
