Talking point: ECP executives include Fady Mansour, Solomon Friedman, Derek Ogden, Sarah Bain and Rocco Meliambro, who were part of Bruinen Investments, which attempted to purchase the company in 2021. Bruinen founder and CEO Chuck Rifici is not listed on ECP’s website. Bernd Bergmair, who along with Feras Antoon and David Tassillo owned the company, was recently in MindGeek’s Montreal offices, leading to staff speculation that a leadership change could be coming, according to a source with knowledge of the matter. MindGeek is embroiled in a number of lawsuits, and was dropped by Visa and Mastercard following the December 2020 publication of a New York Times column claiming Pornhub was “infested with rape videos.”
