The company said in a statement the new hub will create up to 2,500 new remote and in-office jobs over the next five years. Talking point: The technology giant noted that the Toronto hub will play an important role in the creation of Meta’s metaverse. “This is a tremendous show of confidence in our province and our workers, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to Toronto,” said Premier Doug Ford in a press conference. He added that because many of the jobs will be remote, opportunities in the rest of the province will also grow.
