The company seeking to open Canada’s first commercial spaceport said it’s signed a letter of intent to send a rocket from Quebec’s Reaction Dynamics up for a suborbital flight next summer. A yet-to-be-chosen Canadian payload will make the event the first all-Canadian space launch, MLS said. (The Logic)
Talking point: Maritime Launch Services’s plans for a site near Canso, N.S., have been in the works for years; it’s previously said that Texas-based Nanoracks would provide the payload for its first launch, which would use a Ukrainian Cyclone-4M rocket. The Cyclone-4M is assembled from components that have been used many times; Reaction Dynamics is still enlisting partners for its first flights. MLS began trading on the Neo Exchange last week.
