Talking point: Aragon will report to Lululemon CEO Calvin McDonald. Vancouver-based Lululemon announced it was acquiring the exercise smart-mirror for $500 million in June 2020, just as the pandemic prompted gymgoers to shake up their workouts with at-home options like Peloton. But the nearly-$1,900 (before tax) product, which came to Canada just before the holiday season, has struggled. In December, when reporting its third-quarter earnings, the company cut the year’s sales expectations for Mirror from between US$250 million and US$275 million, to between US$125 million and US$130 million. The new CEO will also have to deal with a Nike lawsuit filed earlier this week, alleging the product’s technology infringes on Nike’s patents.
