The provincial government has ordered 1,200 electric school buses be inspected as a preventative measure, following a fire in a Lion bus in Montreal earlier this week. A note to parents from the English Montreal School Board announced the one-day service suspension. (The Logic, CTV News)
Talking point: The order affects the vast majority of the estimated 1,300 Lion buses on Quebec roads. The company, based outside of Montreal, filed for bankruptcy protection in December 2024. A consortium led by Lion board member Pierre Wilkie agreed to buy the electric bus and truck manufacturer out of insolvency in May.
