Talking point: In a release, LinkedIn’s Canada country manager Diana Luu said the platform is prioritizing authenticity and security, and the new verification options will ensure a “safer and more reliable experience for everyone.” Users who opt in to the feature can add proof-of-identity verification to their profiles. According to LinkedIn’s community report, covering the period from July to December 2022, the platform detected and removed 44.7 million fake accounts at the point of registration, 13.2 million after they were registered and 201,000 following member reports.
