Talking point: Many publicly traded tech firms’ revenues and stock prices have been dragged down by high inflation and consumer fears of an impending recession. But supply chain issues, which are among the causes of those challenges, are Kinaxis’s opportunities—clients use its software to plan and test their networks. Last week, the firm reported US$80.8 million in revenue for the second quarter, up 35 per cent year over year, while adjusted earnings rose 45 per cent to US$10.4 million. Kinaxis plans to add more than 500 new workers this year to a staff of 1,400, bucking the trend of other tech firms that are laying off staff. Its new acquisition MPO brings 62 employees, and previously raised US$10 million, according to PitchBook data.
