The United Food and Commercial Workers Canada Union, Local No. 401 had applied with the Alberta Labour Relations Board in late April to become the certified bargaining agent for the unionizing staff. The organizers have said they “hope to support and encourage our peers in the industry” to do the same. Workers at Vodeo Games created the first video-game union in North America last December.
