Telus Ventures joined the Toronto-based private equity firm in the Series B round, along with existing investor I Squared Capital. (The Logic)
Talking point: Kode Labs helps commercial landlords manage buildings’ systems like heating, cooling and ventilation to improve energy efficiency. The Detroit-based company said in a press release that its annual recurring revenue has grown more than 200 per cent annually over the past three years. This is the fourth investment for Maverix since the private equity firm, led by former OMERS Ventures CEO John Ruffolo, launched in 2021. The firm most recently backed Kitchener, Ont.-based smart-transportation firm Miovision in a $296-million round, in which Telus Ventures also participated.
