Peel Regional Police charged Geoffrey Wall with fraud following “Project Icarus,” a four-month criminal investigation. Records indicate Wall possessed a commercial pilot’s licence, but not the necessary accreditation to operate aircraft as a captain, including the Boeing 777, the largest aircraft in the company’s fleet. Talking point: Wall was charged with a total of seven offences, including fraud over $5,000 and public mischief. He retired in 2025 prior to the initiation of the regulatory and criminal investigations after a 27-year career, having flown more than 900 domestic and international flights as a captain. He also held several positions within the Air Canada Pilots Association. “Immediately upon Air Canada’s discovery of [Wall’s licence issue], the individual was removed from active duty, and the company voluntarily reported the matter to Transport Canada,” Air Canada said in a statement, noting that safety was not compromised.
