The Montreal-based AI software company acquired Anglera, a San Francisco-based startup, for an undisclosed amount. Coveo will use Anglera’s technology as an add-on to its commerce software. The companies didn’t disclose the terms, but Coveo CFO Karine Hamel said on an earnings call Thursday that the acquisition represented a “modest upfront investment” with potentially more payment in early 2028, depending on performance. Talking point: Coveo makes software that helps shoppers find products on retailers’ websites and suggests other items they might want to buy. Anglera uses AI to improve those retailers’ product listings, adding missing details so shoppers and AI agents can more easily find products they’re looking for. The deal comes as Coveo claims growing demand for its generative AI tools, which accounted for more than half of its new business signed last quarter. The company reported US$40.4 million in revenue for the quarter that ended Sept. 30, up eight per cent from a year earlier. Its net loss shrunk from US$4.4 million to US$3.1 million over the same period.
