The Toronto company announced the acquisition of New Jersey-based Conduent’s public safety and curbside-management business on Dec. 28. The U.S. firm’s public filings revealed the purchase price. (The Logic)
Talking point: The deal follows Constellation’s 2022 acquisition of Bravura (formerly Hitachi ID Systems) for an undisclosed sum, under which it added a new password and digital identification platform. With the purchase of Conduent, Constellation will assume a new parking-management system that has been used in the public sector, as well as traffic-management services like photo radar. For Constellation, which launched a $200-million VC fund in 2021, acquisitions are central to its growth strategy: the firm snaps up about 90 small computer-coding companies a year to widen its software capabilities.
