Temu has a similar page layout to Shein, and sells dresses for as low as US$6 or US$7 and earrings for less than US$1. It marks Pinduoduo’s first overseas expansion, likely motivated by a thirst for greater market share and waning domestic growth in China. Pinduoduo did not advertise Temu’s launch in a press release or on social media, but the website can be tied back to the agriculture e-commerce giant. The site also names Pinduoduo executive Zheng Zhenwei as its director, according to The Wall Street Journal.
