Quebec-based clean-energy company Xebec Adsorption has agreed to buy Green Vision Holding, the parent firm of HyGear, a Dutch hydrogen and nitrogen gas supplier, for about $156 million. The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec will invest $50 million toward the acquisition. The deal is expected to close this month. (The Logic)
Talking point: Xebec, which provides gas purification and produces renewable gases, said the deal gives the company access to new markets to launch a “commercially viable green hydrogen product offering.” HyGear generated €11.4 million in revenue and €2.5 million in operating profit last year. Xebec, meanwhile, said it is considering two other clean-energy acquisitions to add to its growing portfolio of companies.
