The Squamish-based direct-air-capture company said Monday that Daniel Friedmann, former head of Canadarm maker MDA, has assumed the top role. (The Logic)
Talking point: Friedmann has served as a CE board member for five years, including the last four as chair. He replaces Steve Oldham, who had been in the role since 2018. The company said Friedmann’s “experience and acumen is ideally suited to lead CE’s next stage of commercialization and global expansion.” Carbon Engineering has made a slew of announcements recently, including: a deal for a commercial plant to produce fuel from carbon capture in Canada, a memorandum of understanding with Air Canada to find ways the airline can use its technology, and a partnership to build a direct-air capture commercial plant in Norway.
