Talking point: Attabotics said in a release that its latest version is leaner than its predecessors, eliminating 60 per cent of parts. It can also accommodate larger 16-inch bins for greater storage space, and can be used by e-grocery firms because it “encloses and protects items from outside contaminants.” Attabotics’s technology has been growing in demand as logistics companies seek out more three-dimensional warehouse-management systems in an effort to save floor space, and as rapid e-commerce growth raises demand for direct-to-consumer shipping options. The startup has been looking to expand its footprint in Canada, and hopes to establish a new manufacturing hub in Hamilton, Ont., The Logic previously reported.
