Talking point: Acquired by CAE in 2007, Flightscape is a software suite of flight management and logistics tools—and it could be operated as a standalone business, CAE said. The review comes less than a year after the appointment of former Northrop Grumman exec Matthew Bromberg as CEO. CAE has seen an uptick in defence-related revenue, stemming in large part from commitments from several NATO countries to significantly increase their defence budgets. Nevertheless, last month it laid off two per cent of its workforce, and said it would explore the sale of some European facilities, amid declining plane orders.
