Bromberg, who has served as Northrop Grumman’s vice-president of global operations since 2022, will take the top job at the Montreal-based aerospace training company in August. The company also appointed former Air Canada CEO Calin Rovinescu as chairman of the board and former Hydro-Québec CEO Sophie Brochu as independent director. (The Logic)
Talking point: Bromberg takes over from Marc Parent, who has led the company since 2009 but announced his decision to step down in November. Los Angeles-based firm Browning West pushed for a new CEO when it acquired a 4.3 per cent share in CAE last December, saying the company had underperformed for the last five years. Bromberg’s experience with defence and security specialists Northrop could prove particularly valuable. CAE’s last quarterly earnings report predicted growing profitability from its defence business, thanks to “a prolonged up-cycle with increased budgets across NATO and allied nations” and a global shortage of uniformed personnel that’s leading militaries to hire CAE for support.
