Talking point: La Caisse and CPP Investments joined other major shareholders in FNZ in demanding a board shakeup amid concerns about losses the company incurred while expanding into new markets. FNZ is also embroiled in a court battle with minority shareholders, who allege they were unfairly diluted in funding rounds La Caisse and CPP Investments participated in. FNZ announced a new board chair earlier this month and five additional directors departed in June. Emond told the Globe that he has confidence in FNZ’s product, but the company needs to cut spending.
