Talking point: Casovan spent over seven years working for the federal government. She led the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat’s work in developing Canada’s Data Strategy Roadmap, as well as the country’s first national policy on responsible AI use. Prior to her time in Ottawa, she spent five years with the City of Edmonton, most recently as an adviser to its chief information officer, and helped implement the city’s open-data and open-government strategies.
