Talking point: Abdera closed a US$32.5-million Series A in 2021, which it also announced today, that was led by Versant Ventures, with participation from its Vancouver neighbour AbCellera, among others. Abdera uses its ROVEr platform to create antibody-based radiopharmaceuticals to target cancers. The company’s candidate that is farthest along is in preclinical development, and it plans to use the funds to bring that program into the clinic and advance its pipeline of other therapies, said spokesperson Katie Engleman in an email.
