Talking Point: The company best known for its speakers still beat analyst expectations this quarter, after cutting its full-year guidance in August from between $1.6 billion and $1.7 billion, to between $1.5 billion and $1.53 billion. But app glitches also delayed two product releases. The company’s Canadian CEO, Patrick Spence, apologized for the app’s issues in a note in July. Sonos has reassured customers that they’re “recommitting” to customer experience and has taken various steps, like extending manufacturer warranty and saying that their leadership team won’t accept bonus payouts unless they’ve rebuilt trust. The company’s shares have fallen 20.4 per cent since the new app’s launch on May 7.
