Talking point: Nearly all of the Canadian companies surveyed said they plan to invest in areas like AI, quantum computing, data and cybersecurity within the next five years. AI investment by Canadian companies is outpacing the global average by two percentage points, with nearly 80 per cent of Canadian companies saying they are either developing or running AI use cases. Almost all, or 93 per cent, of the AI adopters are seeing it positively impact profitability—but many are being held up on strategy. Only 38 per cent are progressing; over half are stuck behind schedule or held up by investment approval.
