Talking point: The Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) has faced disappointing results from Lord & Taylor. It already closed a number of locations including its flagship Manhattan store in early January, which it sold to office-sharing startup WeWork for US$1.1 billion. However, as e-commerce continues to shift consumer habits, industry analysts said it would be tough for HBC to get a good price for Lord & Taylor.
