Talking point: If the deal goes through, it would be one of the largest commercial property deals from a foreign company ever permitted in China. In March, China passed a law easing restrictions on foreign companies doing business in the country. While China and the U.S. are in the midst of a trade war, Canadian firms have an opportunity to take advantage of those conditions to get in on the booming Shanghai real estate market.
