The Quebec City-based company will work with General Motors dealers to put its Level 2 EV chargers in locations like workplaces, multi-unit dwellings, event venues, colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada. They will mostly be built in Michigan and the company’s Quebec plant will provide support. (The Logic)
Talking point: The deal would nearly double the number of Level 2 chargers available today. Natural Resources Canada’s EV charger map, last updated in June, estimates there’s only about 50,630 Level 2 EV chargers across both the U.S. and Canada. General Motors previously told The Logic that its dealership-led program for rolling out EV chargers would put about 4,500 of its 44,000 chargers in Canada, funded by shared investments from local businesses, dealers and the automaker. Flo, which has investors that include the Business Development Bank of Canada, the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and Investissement Québec, did not disclose the value of the deal.
