Talking point: BlackBerry’s vehicle software unit QNX helped drive better-than-expected revenue, profitability and cash last quarter, with a 27 per cent increase in revenue. CEO John Giamatteo said he expects growth in that division to continue, pointing to opportunities in physical AI, as well as its Alloy Kore business, which provides the software underpinning a vehicle’s digital systems and which just landed its first customer. BlackBerry is now expecting full-year revenue of between US$616 million and US$636 million, compared to its earlier prediction that revenue would fall between US$594 million and US$621 million.
