Talking point: TFI won’t be the first trucking company to go driverless in the U.S. Trucks built by Aurora Innovation and Kodiak Robotics both haul goods autonomously in the south. Toronto-based self-driving firm Waabi has run autonomous trucks in Texas for Uber Freight. Regulations have made adoption slower in Canada. By the end of this year, however, Loblaw plans to have 50 autonomous box trucks built by California firm Gatik running in the Greater Toronto Area.
