Talking point: The collapse of Three Arrows Capital was part of a cascading series of failures that caused a dramatic crash in crypto prices over the summer. Three Arrows owes money to Voyager Digital, a crypto lender that has also declared bankruptcy and was delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange in August. Singapore-registered Moonbeam Foundation, whose director Aaron Evans is based in Ottawa, is another creditor. Lawyers and other officials have been unable to locate Three Arrows’ founders. Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec-backed Celsius, another crypto firm that went bankrupt in the crash, is also under investigation by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and other U.S. regulators. The CFTC is probing whether Celsius failed to disclose how it was using customer funds and whether it manipulated markets, Bloomberg reported.
