The how-tos of an excellent CEO
Being, and becoming, an excellent CEO is one of the most peerless goals in business and requires ongoing effort and tremendous commitment. The current economic climate only adds to the challenge. How CEOs lead has now become even more paramount.
Based on 67 interviews with some of today’s most successful leaders, McKinsey’s newest book and New York Times bestseller, CEO Excellence: The Six Mindsets That Distinguish the Best Leaders from the Rest, details the key developments CEOs have undergone in order to effectively lead their organizations. It provides current and future leaders with a guide to become an even greater CEO and steer their organizations through economic turbulence.
Carolyn Dewar, co-author of the New York Times bestseller, CEO Excellence: The Six Mindsets That Distinguish the Best Leaders from the Rest, joined David Skok, The Logic’s CEO and editor-in-chief as they dove further into the research and findings that went into writing CEO Excellence, and how tomorrow’s CEOs can apply them to their leadership practices.
Carolyn Dewar leads the CEO Excellence practice for the consultancy McKinsey & Company, where she is also a senior partner. Carolyn coaches many Fortune 100 CEOs to maximize their effectiveness in the role, including business aspiration-setting, organization shifts, top-team effectiveness, managing external stakeholders, board engagement, and resetting their own personal operating models. Carolyn is a Canadian and British citizen, and currently lives in San Francisco with her two children and husband.
