Talking point: Frontier launched in 2022 as a joint initiative between Shopify, Google, Stripe, Meta, and McKinsey Sustainability. The company is trying to make it more financially feasible for startups to remove emissions by providing revenue for the carbon dioxide they capture and store. Last year, the firm bought more than 667,000 tonnes of CO2 across 16 deals, an analysis by The Logic found. Most of its deals so far have focused on removing carbon from the atmosphere.
